iMessage API comparisons: ZeroSettle vs the alternatives
Written by ZeroSettle. We make one of the products compared.
ZeroSettle's comparison pages set it against the other ways to text customers on iMessage and the channels buyers weigh against it: managed iMessage APIs (Sendblue, Linq, LoopMessage, Blooio, Project Blue), self-hosted bridges (BlueBubbles, OpenClaw), Apple Messages for Business, SMS and RCS (Twilio) and WhatsApp. Each page says when the alternative is the better choice and links every competitor fact to a primary source, usually the competitor's own page, with the date it was checked; prices were checked on October 8, 2026. We make ZeroSettle.
Key takeaways
- What ZeroSettle is: ZeroSettle is an iMessage API: a real phone number on real iMessage, running on Apple hardware we operate for you, that your code texts customers from and hears back on through a bearer token and signed webhooks.
- ZeroSettle's price: Pro is $49/month, self-serve, with no setup fee and 1,000 AI credits a month for the hosted AI agent. Growth is from $599/mo for 3+ numbers, set up after a demo.
- Main limit: a Pro number can send the first message to 20 unique contacts per day (Growth: 50 per number). People who text the number first are never limited.
- Where ZeroSettle usually loses: Android reach (there is no SMS fallback), group chats, a contractual SLA, published SOC 2 or HIPAA paperwork, number porting and a free trial.
- How the pages are sourced: competitor facts come from primary sources, mostly each competitor's own pages, and carry the date checked; what a vendor does not publish is marked as not published, never guessed.
Which comparison should you read?
Read the ZeroSettle comparison that matches the decision you are making: a vendor, a channel, a budget, or whether to run iMessage yourself. New to the term? Start with what an iMessage API is.

How are these comparisons written?
ZeroSettle writes these pages, so each one says so at the top, states its criteria before any results, and dates every competitor fact, taken from primary sources: mostly the competitor's own pricing pages, docs and terms.
- Criteria: the price of a number that can message first, daily limits on new conversations, SMS or RCS fallback, webhook signing and retries, AI options, compliance paperwork, uptime commitments, and trial or refund terms.
- No guessing: what a vendor does not publish is marked as not published, and totals we add up from add-ons are labeled as our arithmetic.
- Both verdicts: every page says when the alternative is the better choice and has its own “When ZeroSettle is not a fit” section.
How does ZeroSettle compare with each provider?
Of the five iMessage APIs compared head to head, ZeroSettle Pro has the lowest published price for a dedicated number that can send the first message: $49 a month, for 5 new contacts a day, unlimited messages with people who message you first, and no SMS fallback. The competitor usually wins on reach beyond iMessage, group chats, compliance paperwork or a contractual SLA. A sixth page compares ZeroSettle with SMS on Twilio. Competitor facts below were checked October 8, 2026.
- ZeroSettle vs Sendblue: price, outbound limits, fallback (2026)
- Sendblue's $100-a-month AI Agent line lists “Inbound-first messaging”; “Full outbound messaging” and “SOC 2 & HIPAA” are listed on its custom-priced Enterprise plan (Sendblue pricing). Also compared: fallback and webhook authentication.
- ZeroSettle vs Linq: iMessage API price, SLA and features (2026)
- Linq Pro is “Starting at $260/mo” with a 7-day free trial, and Linq lists RCS and SMS fallback, group messaging and, on Enterprise, “Contractual SLAs” (Linq pricing). Also compared: pooled lines and ZeroSettle's hosted AI agent.
- ZeroSettle vs LoopMessage: price, outbound rules, webhooks (2026)
- LoopMessage sells a dedicated phone number and the right to message first as add-ons to a base plan: the Light plan plus its sender-name, phone-number and Init conversations add-ons comes to at least $104.99 a month plus $60 once, by our arithmetic from LoopMessage pricing. SMS/RCS fallback and WhatsApp cost extra. Also compared: contact caps and webhooks.
- ZeroSettle vs Blooio: iMessage API plans and limits (2026)
- Blooio is cheaper to try (20 free messages, or $39 a month on a shared Starter number), and its dedicated equivalent, Commercial Dedicated, is $289 a month per line (Blooio pricing). Also compared: daily limits and refunds.
- ZeroSettle vs Project Blue: iMessage for sales teams (2026)
- Project Blue serves sales teams working in GoHighLevel, HubSpot or Close, with SMS fallback and a calling product; one line is $300 a month plus a setup fee, or $1,998 a year, and Project Blue requires a demo first (Project Blue pricing). Also compared: webhooks and STOP handling.
- ZeroSettle vs Twilio: iMessage vs SMS for business texting
- US SMS on Twilio costs $0.0083 per segment plus carrier fees (Twilio pricing). SMS reaches Android phones too, but an iPhone shows it in a green bubble (Apple Support). Also compared: carrier registration and SLAs.
How do channels, prices and self-hosting compare?
Five pages compare whole categories rather than one vendor, for buyers still choosing a channel, a budget or whether to run iMessage themselves.
- Best iMessage API providers in 2026: 14 options compared
- Fourteen options in four groups (six managed iMessage APIs, two services on your own iPhone or Mac, two self-hosted projects and four official channels that are not iMessage numbers), grouped by type rather than ranked, with the best fit for each need.
- iMessage API pricing compared: what a number costs (2026)
- Nine options priced for a dedicated number that can start conversations, with add-ons, contact limits and refund terms, plus cheaper routes on a shared number or on your own iPhone or Mac.
- iMessage vs SMS vs RCS vs WhatsApp for business (2026)
- Reach, cost model, setup and rules for messaging first across the four channels, and how to pair iMessage for iPhone users with SMS for everyone else.
- Apple Messages for Business vs an iMessage number: which fits?
- Apple's channel identifies a business by a Business ID that Apple assigns, not a phone number, runs through an Apple-approved Messaging Service Provider, and waits for the customer to start the conversation (Apple's FAQ). An iMessage number can text first, with consent and within its plan's new-contact limits.
- Self-hosting iMessage (Mac + BlueBubbles) vs a managed API
- BlueBubbles is free but needs a Mac you keep awake (BlueBubbles FAQ), and OpenClaw runs on a Mac signed in to Messages (OpenClaw docs), so the upkeep, and any spam flag on your own account, are yours. Compared with a managed API on cost, setup, security and reliability.
When ZeroSettle is not a fit: its seven gaps
ZeroSettle is not a fit if you need any of the seven things below. The table states each gap once, in ZeroSettle's own terms, with the page that compares the alternatives.
| You need | ZeroSettle today | Compared in |
|---|---|---|
| Android or SMS reach | “The address must be on someone's iMessage; there is no SMS or email fallback.” SMS fallback for non-Apple phones is on the roadmap. | The four channels, ZeroSettle vs Twilio |
| Group chats | One-to-one conversations only; group chats are on the roadmap. | ZeroSettle vs Linq |
| More first messages a day | Pro: 5 new contacts a day per number (3 AM to 3 AM Eastern); need more, book a demo to upgrade to Growth. Growth: 50 a day and 3 per 15 minutes per number. Every plan allows at most 2 unanswered messages to a contact until they reply. The terms rule out unsolicited or high-volume outreach. | Pricing compared, ZeroSettle vs LoopMessage |
| A contractual SLA | “99.9% uptime” is a homepage stat, not an SLA. The terms say “ZeroSettle does not warrant that the services will meet your requirements or that their operation will be uninterrupted or error-free”. | ZeroSettle vs Linq, ZeroSettle vs Twilio |
| SOC 2 or HIPAA | No SOC 2 report or HIPAA claim is published; the homepage lists “SOC 2, DPA and security reviews” only under Enterprise, which has custom pricing. No protected health information without a signed Business Associate Agreement. | ZeroSettle vs Sendblue |
| To port or keep the number | Numbers “remain the property of ZeroSettle” and are reclaimed when a subscription ends. No porting, no bring-your-own number, no area-code choice and no documented non-US numbers. | ZeroSettle vs LoopMessage, Self-hosting |
| A free trial | None. A 30-day money-back guarantee covers the subscription, not AI credit packs: “ask within 30 days and you are refunded in full and the subscription is cancelled”. | ZeroSettle vs Blooio, ZeroSettle vs Linq |
For uptime, spam flags and security, see the reliability and trust hub; for the jobs ZeroSettle does fit, see the use-case hub. Prices are in ZeroSettle's plans, and every limit is in the API docs' errors, limits and compliance section.
Frequently asked questions
Are these comparisons neutral?
No vendor-written comparison is fully neutral. Each page says ZeroSettle wrote it, links every competitor fact to the competitor's own page so you can check it, and says when the competitor is the better choice.
How often are prices re-checked?
Quarterly, and sooner when we learn that a vendor has changed its pricing. Each page shows the date its facts were checked and keeps a changelog.
Is ZeroSettle part of Apple Messages for Business?
No. ZeroSettle's terms say it “is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc.” A ZeroSettle line is a phone number on iMessage, while Apple's channel uses a Business ID.
Can I report an error?
Yes. Email founders@zerosettle.io with the page and the source; corrections are recorded in each page's changelog.
